Long-term parking at Schiphol
If you are going away for three weeks or even longer, the parking costs add up quickly. Especially for a long period it pays to compare carefully, because providers build up their prices in very different ways. Why the price per day drops
Many providers charge a higher amount for the first days and then a lower amount for each extra day. On a long trip you therefore pay less per day on average than on a short break. But the difference between providers can be bigger for a long period than for a short one: a provider that is good value for a week does not have to be for three weeks. How we calculate long periods
For many providers we have published prices for periods up to about a week, plus an amount per extra day. We use these to calculate the price for longer periods. Where a provider does not publish an extra-day price, we make a cautious estimate based on its other prices. We always show such prices as indicative, with a ± and the date on which we checked the rates. You see the final price for your whole trip at the provider.
Tips for a long trip
- Check whether the provider has a maximum parking duration.
- Do not leave valuables visible in the car.
- Think about your battery: a car that has been standing still for weeks may struggle to start when you return. Ask whether the provider can help with this if needed.
- With an electric car: check whether there is a charging point and how charging is paid for.
- Read the cancellation terms, because on a long trip plans are sometimes still changing.
Valet or shuttle on a long trip
On a long trip you often have more luggage with you. Valet parking can be convenient then, because you get out right at the terminal.
