Parking at Weeze Airport
Weeze Airport lies in the German town of Weeze, just across the border. The airport is operated by Flughafen Niederrhein GmbH and the address of its car parks is Flughafen-Ring 200, 47652 Weeze. If you drive to Weeze, your car has to stay somewhere while you are away. On this page you can read which types of parking you may come across at Weeze and what to look at before you choose a space.
The airport's own car parks
According to the official Weeze Airport website there are four car parks: P Terminal, P1, P2 and P3. They are within walking distance of the terminal. The airport itself states that these car parks are unguarded. It also mentions charging points for electric cars at P Terminal. The latest rates and terms are published on the airport's website.
Other types of parking
Besides the airport's own car parks, many airports also offer shuttle parking or valet parking. In short, these are the three types:
- Parking within walking distance: you leave the car close to the terminal and walk to the departure hall yourself.
- Shuttle parking: the car park is a little further away and a shuttle bus takes you to the terminal.
- Valet parking: a member of staff takes your car and key at the terminal and parks the car for you.
Which types are available for your travel dates is shown in the search results.
From the Netherlands to Weeze
You drive across the border in your Dutch car. Take your vehicle registration document, driving licence and insurance details with you, and plan your route beforehand with a route planner that uses live traffic information. The airport advises being in the terminal at least 2.5 hours before departure. Allow plenty of time, including for the walk or ride from your parking space to the terminal. Terms and instructions may be in German. Read them in advance and keep your confirmation on your phone.
What to look at when choosing
- the total price for your whole trip, not just the price per day;
- the distance to the terminal and, with a shuttle, the transfer time;
- the cancellation terms, especially if your plans may change;
- whether the car park is guarded or fenced, and whether the car is parked indoors or outdoors;
- the address, the arrival instructions and what to do if your flight is delayed.
Plan ahead
During school holidays and around public holidays it can be busier at and around the airport. If you already know your travel dates, look at the options well in advance and check the cancellation terms.
